“A Fun-Filled Memorial Weekend Club Cruise to Enjoy Chestertown’s Festivities.”

The reenactment of the Revolutionary Era Tea Tossing Protest from the Schooner Sultana.in Chestertown, MD (along with a few Tories) was the featured event over Memorial Day Weekend for BCYC members participating in the Club’s first weekend cruise.  Many also attended the Chestertown’s festival that featured music, crafts, and a variety of food options. Over 25 power and sail boats brought more than 60 members who enjoyed the weekend’s four days of beautiful weather and the two dinners and a breakfast held at Haven Harbor Marina in Rock Hall. A spirited Bocce Ball competition was featured Sunday afternoon

On June 4th, the Club held its Midweek Event, a leisurely lunch raft up on the Rhode River, LAT 38.52N, LON 76.31, where those attending  shared a meal and specially prepared desserts while visiting, swimming, and relaxing with fellow members and guests.  Several boats even remained overnight.  These are opportunities to enjoy the Chesapeake's beautiful creeks and rivers during a more quiet Midweek time.  The Club’s week-long summer cruise started on June 14th, with a raft up near Dobbin and Gibson islands on the Magothy River.  The over 22 boats participating, headed north to Poole's Island the next day, and then went on to Fairlee Creek (docking at Great Oaks Marina..  From there it will go south to Caccaway Island on Langford Creek (off of the Chester River), and thereafter through Kent Island to Wye Island.  The cruise will conclude near Tilghman Island at the Miles River Yacht Club on the 21st.  So if these activities, along with friendly people heavily into boats and cruising sounds like fun to you, join us and call Bill Kranzer, membership chair, at (410) 263-9770 for a warm invitation to participate in our next event.  You can check out our website at gobcyc.com
