Ride the Wave!

  • January – The Commodore’s Ball was held at the Annapolis Yacht Club, chaired by Jeanne Kelly. Mary Bowie organized a silent auction that netted nearly $2,000 for the club.

  • February – Bill and Karen Kranzer hosted a fabulous Mardi Gras Party at their home.

  • March – Pat Bernhart hosted the annual “Wearing of the Green” at the Landings at River Oaks Club House.

  • April – Members participated in a Back Creek Cleanup sponsored by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.

  • April – The first On-Water Rendezvous of the year was on Minnow Creek at the home of JJ Sullivan.

  • May – Gordon and Mary Bowie welcomed the year’s New Members at a “Cinco Plus One” party at Epping Forest.

  • May – Memorial Day Weekend participation at Great Oak Marina Fairlee Creek earned the club a recognition plaque and free breakfast for having the most boats. The “Everything T” weekend included a Trolley to the Tea Party in Chestertown and Tee times for golf. Gail Higginbotham planned this outstanding weekend.

  • June – Wally and Molly Stone continued the tradition of hosting the annual  Lobster Feast at their home on Crab Creek.

  • June – Linda Gabriel planned a three-course dinner gathering at Pirates Cove Galesville.

  • July – The “Summer Celebrity Cruise” kicked off on the First of July with a circle raft in Baby Owl Cove. Each day featured a different movie theme and was a spectacular hit according to all who attended.

  • July – The Fourth of July was at Zahnisers in Solomons – a stop on the Club Cruise.

  • July – “Havana Nights” was the theme of a party at Knapps Narrows, hosted by Bill and Geraldine Falk.

  • August – The Pontanos hosted another memorable weekend at their home on Dun Cove

  • August – Pat Bernhart established a new club tradition: weekday activities such as lunch on the hook and other casual affairs. The first Lunch on the Hook drew 7 boats.

  • September – Labor Day at Langford Marina was hosted by Vic and Becky Kleinfelter.

  • September – Larry and Jeanne Kelly hosted a Crab Feast at their home on Tracys Creek

  • October – Members gathered at the Annapolis Marriott for the Boat Show Breakdown Party

  • Ed and Claudia Evans hosted a weekend in Saint Michaels, including dinner at Miles River Yacht Club and a performance by the Eastport Oyster Boys.

  • November – The General Membership meeting and election of 2007 Officers took place at Phillips Restaurant in Annapolis.

  • December – Mike and Kelly Lange’s boat ‘Lil Leroy was the BCYC entry in the Lights Parade where it was known as “Little Toot” and won a prize. Members observed the parade and partied at the Annapolis Marriott.
